Ted talk #5
In the Ted Talk, speaker Wendy Chung talks about the causes of autism, which is what I think Lennie has. Lennie is a large man in Of Mice and Men that suffers from some kind of mental illness. I think it is a form of autism that allows Lennie to perform everyday activities and speak, but not clearly and efficiently. This makes Lennie a very sweet character who doesn't even know his own brute strength and kills animals without even meaning to. His only intention is to pet the small, soft creatures. Even though we do not know for sure that autism is what he has, it is possible by the symptoms that are seen in the novel.
